A 1000 mL graduated cylinder with green liquid filled to 640 mL, marked every 10 mL — A 1 L (1000 mL) graduated cylinder marked every 10 mL and numbered every 100 mL, holding green liquid. The bottom of the meniscus is on the 640 mL mark, so the reading is 640 mL, the ones digit being the estimated one. There is no magnifier, so students read it from the whole cylinder.
